Spa Chlorine & Bromine
You will need an FDA approved spa sanitizer such as
chlorine or bromine when using your hottub. Remember, an ozonator can't
work alone. If using bromine, be sure to use sodium bromide when you first fill
your tub to establish a bromine reserve. Once your bromine levels are ideal, you
can use bromine
tablets for the spa to continue the sanitation process.

Spa Shock
In order to properly rid your spa of unwanted organic contaminents, be sure to shock
your tub weekly and after each use with a quality
non-chlorine shock for the spa. This will oxidize any dead organics that
may have built up in the water during use. Failing to shock your spa water regularly
will result in cloudy water.

Balancing & Metal Control in Spas
The key to crystal clear water is keeping your pH, alkalinity and hardness levels
in the ideal range. Improper balancing can cause cloudy water or staining of your
spa surface. Use pH Up
and/or pH Down to
bring your pH and alkalinity levels into the correct range. If you have hard water
you will need to use a metal sequestering agent and calcium inhibitor to prevent spa staining and scaling
on the surface.

Spa Maintenance Cleaners
Finally, it's important to keep all of your spa equipment clean and free from dirt,
oils and debris. Over time these contaniments can stain and damage the spa surface,
pipes, pumps and other equipment that should last a lifetime. Be sure to use a spa filter cleaner
regularly to extend the life of your filter.
